This is my bow and stern recessed fittings which were drilled with a forstner bit.  The flex shaft did the cross bronze bar.  Spent some time thinking about wether the bar should be mounted like this or in the 90 degree position.  I like the way the rope looked this way, the the other position may hve been slightly less friction.
